Transporting a shipment with the cargo of others in the same container is referred to as LCL or Less than Container load. Thus multiple LCL shipments with different Bills of Lading and different owners can be loaded in a single container. the freight payer pays only for the space their cargo takes up in the container, in stead of the entire container.
